ElectrifyPayback is an independent resource that helps homeowners answer one question honestly: does switching to electric heating, solar, or battery storage actually pay off for my home?

The home-energy space is full of calculators that overstate savings — many still apply federal tax credits that expired at the end of 2025, or assume you can profitably "sell power back to the grid" when most utilities don't allow it. We built this site to give straight answers based on your state's real electricity and gas prices and the current 2026 incentive rules.

How our calculators work

Each tool uses published residential energy-price data (U.S. Energy Information Administration averages) as a starting point, which you can adjust to your exact utility rates. We model the physics honestly: heat pumps move heat rather than burn fuel, so their value depends on your local electricity-to-fuel price ratio and your climate. We show you the math, not a sales pitch.

How we stay free

The site is supported by advertising and by referral relationships with installers and product retailers. This never changes the numbers our calculators produce. See our disclaimer for details.
